Changes to Privacy Laws that may affect your website

On Wednesday 12th March 2014, various amendments to the Privacy Act came into effect. Some businesses will be affected by these changes.

The Federal Government has further developed the Privacy Act to include 13 Australian Privacy Principles that relate to the collecting, handling and use of personal information.

Although the new amendments are not a huge change, they may affect your business.

We have already recieved calls from clients who need to update the privacy policy or statement on their website as a result of these changes.

The changes may affect:

– The collection, use and storage of personal information
– Information used for Direct Marketing purposes
Prohibited use of information for direct marketing
Mailing Lists
Providing access to collected information

We would like to encourage you to contact the studio as soon as possible to ensure that your website and direct marketing activities are compliant.

This is a unique website which will require a more modern browser to work!
